AIU Master's Students — Prize Winners of the III International Research Competition "Bilim zhane Bolashak"
Wed, May 14, 2025, 10:14 AM

First-year Master’s Students of the Higher School of Law at Astana International University (AIU) Actively Participate in the III International Research Competition “Bilim zhane Bolashak”

Among the participants were Amanov A. and Tolegen B., who received participation certificates. Notable success was achieved by Kairbekova I. and Akanov N., who earned honorable second places in their respective sections. The scientific supervision of their work was carried out by Candidate of Legal Sciences, AIU Professor Serik Mardenovich Imanbayev, whose support and professional mentorship played a significant role in each participant’s development.

Writing a scientific article is not just an academic task but a strategic investment in a professional future. Today’s master’s students are tomorrow’s educators and researchers. They must be able to analyze their own work, draw practical conclusions from research, and implement innovative approaches in the educational process.

Teaching students to write academic articles means investing in the formation of a conscious, methodologically competent educator of the future.

The final stage of the competition took place on May 8 at Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov. This year, the event was held in an online format and provided a unique opportunity for aspiring scientists and students to learn the path from an idea to a scientific publication.

One of the distinctive features of the competition was its educational focus: participants not only presented the results of their research, but also attended a series of webinars on academic writing, gained access to international platforms and publishers including DeGruyter and Brill, and learned how the peer-review process works. Their works were evaluated by faculty members and researchers from Kazakhstan and other countries, allowing participants to feel like full members of the academic community.

For many master’s students, this was their first experience of academic presentation and a significant step toward professional growth.

The competition became an example of successful collaboration between the scientific-methodological journal East-West and Zhetysu University, with the support of colleagues from the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University and Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University.

Special thanks go to the initiator and moderator of the competition, Saule Temirbayevna Isalieva — Master of Social Sciences and Senior Lecturer at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University — for her invaluable contribution to fostering a research culture among young scholars.

May participation in this competition be the first step toward great scientific achievements!
