From October 17 to 19, 2024, representatives of the School of Social Entrepreneurship "Oreli urpak" of Astana International University took part in the XIII International Forum of Social Entrepreneurs and Investors "INNOSIB-2024" in Omsk (Russian Federation).

The INNOSIB Forum has become an important platform for discussion and interaction between representatives of social entrepreneurship, non-profit organizations, leaders of civil initiatives, as well as representatives of the expert community, government and business. This year, the forum brought together more than 300 participants from different countries, providing an opportunity to share experiences and establish business ties.

Within the framework of the forum, the delegation of Astana International University participated in a series of master classes and dialogue platforms, where topical topics and trends in the field of social entrepreneurship were discussed. Representatives of the university also visited the Omsk Region business incubator, which allowed them to get to know more about regional initiatives to support social projects and startups.

One of the significant events of the forum was the signing of a memorandum of cooperation with the Omsk regional public organization "Center for Social Innovations". This agreement is aimed at developing partnership projects in the field of social entrepreneurship and strengthening interregional cooperation.

Participation in the forum was an important step in the development of the social entrepreneurship program "Oreli Urpak" and opened up new opportunities for the implementation of joint projects aimed at improving the social climate and supporting the initiatives of young entrepreneurs.

We thank the organizers of the INNOSIB 2024 forum for the opportunity to share experiences and establish new partnerships, which will undoubtedly help in the further development of social entrepreneurship and the introduction of innovative solutions in Kazakhstan and beyond.

On November 7, 2024, as part of the "Popularization of Science" program, Astana International University welcomed Dr. Baltabek Esmatovich Kanguzhin, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences and Professor at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, for an engaging lecture on "Aleumettik Mathematics" (Social Mathematics).

Held in the university's assembly hall (auditorium 213) from 13:40 to 14:40, the event attracted students and faculty with a keen interest in the applications of mathematics within social sciences.

During his lecture, Professor Kanguzhin highlighted how mathematics can play a critical role in analyzing and addressing social issues, focusing on key aspects like modeling and mathematical methods in social research.

As part of the "Marketing Week", the Higher School of Economics organized the events aimed at developing students' professional skills and broadening their horizons:

- Intellectual quiz "What? Where? When?" allowed participants to demonstrate their knowledge in the field of marketing, creating an intellectual competition in an exciting format.

- The competition of video clips "PRO Marketing KZ" gave students an opportunity to show their creative abilities and present unique approaches to modern marketing trends.

- The competition of wall newspapers on "New Trends and Challenges in Marketing" stimulated the participants to analyze in detail the current trends in marketing and their visual expression in a creative form.

Guest lectures by leading experts became an important part of the week's educational program. Zhuldyz Kurumbayeva, Head of Marketing Department of SparkloKazakhstan project, shared her deep professional knowledge about modern trends in marketing. Asel Moldasheva, Head of Marketing Department of "DEZI INVEST" LLP, gave a lecture on "Practical Marketing", emphasizing the applied aspects of the profession.

At the end of the week, the winners of the competitions were awarded with memorable prizes, which emphasized the importance of students' participation in these educational events.

We are proud to share the successes of our students: Magzayeva Damel (Economics educational program) and Telyubaeva Mahabbat (Marketing educational program) went to study at one of the leading educational institutions in Russia — the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE) in Moscow! Through the academic mobility program, students discover a world of new knowledge and opportunities, as well as gain valuable practical and personal experience.

As Damel and Mahabbat tell us, this experience goes far beyond ordinary learning: This is an opportunity to see new approaches to education, get to know world-class experts, enrich their knowledge and skills that will help them build a successful career. Students note that participation in the program significantly expands their horizons and helps to strengthen self-confidence.

Davydov, Head of the Prevention Department of the Department of Prevention and Analytical Developments of the AFM, Colonel of the Economic Investigation Service, Askat Kausov, Special Investigator for Particularly Important Cases in the Department for Personnel Potential Development, Department of Human Resources at the Agency for Financial Monitoring, Colonel of the Economic Investigation Service, Gani Sutbaev, Senior Investigator of the Department for Personnel Potential Development, Department of Human Resources at the Agency for Financial Monitoring, Senior Lieutenant of the Economic Investigation Service, Asel Kairzhankyzy, Chief Consultant in the Department for Personnel Potential Development, Department of Human Resources at the Agency for Financial Monitoring.

The speakers gave a lecture covering issues such as combating financial pyramids, and highlighted topics including gambling addiction, money laundering, terrorism financing, and illegal cryptocurrency exchange. Students expressed interest in employment opportunities with the Agency for Financial Monitoring.

The agency representatives noted their readiness to welcome graduates skilled in modern technologies.

Meetings like these are crucial in helping graduates make informed choices about their future careers.

The event was also attended by Deputy Dean of the Higher School of Law Seilkhanov Zhanat Duisenbaevich and 2nd, 3rd, 4th year students of the Higher School of Economics, HSE of Astana International University.

Ermek Ispanov, a second-year student of the DS-23B group and a participant in the business-incubator of Astana International University, successfully presented his EcoLight UV project at the Red Bull Basement 2024 business Ideas competition. Thanks to the unique concept and innovative approach, his project was included in the TOP 20 best startups of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

EcoLight UV is a street lighting system with integrated ultraviolet modules designed to safely kill insects, which allows you to create a comfortable environment in public places. Unlike traditional chemical insecticides, EcoLight UV is safe for the environment and people. The project is aimed at the local, commercial and private sectors, as well as the developer market, positioning itself as an environmentally friendly and effective alternative for a modern city.

In the 2024-2025 academic year, Bolat Aituar, a student of Astana International University under the International Business program, participates in the academic mobility program in Poland. As part of this program, he spends the first semester at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan.

According to Bolat, studying here is a unique experience. During the first months of his stay in Poland, he gained valuable independent living skills, significantly improved his English and began to study Polish. Students from different parts of the world study at Adam Mickiewicz University: Kazakhstan, China, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Malaysia, Spain, France, Germany and other European countries. This international environment creates excellent conditions for cultural exchange and broadening horizons.

The academic mobility program opens up many opportunities for personal and professional growth, exploring new cultures and expanding social ties. Bolat expresses gratitude to the University for the opportunities and inspiration for further development!

On October 22, the Republican oratory contest "Dilmar" was held in Almaty at SDU University, which was attended by university students from all over the country. 🎓 The competition included five stages in which participants demonstrated their knowledge and skills using wise sayings of Kazakh biys and speakers, developing thoughts on a given topic and showing resourcefulness and wit at the right moments. 💡

Our university was represented by a 1st-year student of the educational program 6B01707 "Kazakh language and literature," Nasihatuly Seifullin, who took the honorable 2nd place, adequately representing our university at the national level. 🏆

The competition was held at a high level, giving participants not only the opportunity to compete but also becoming a training ground that helped everyone develop their public speaking skills. Each contestant was charged with positive emotions, and the audience was inspired by the skill of the performances. 😊

Congratulations to Nasihatuly Seifullin on his well-deserved victory and we wish him new achievements and success! 🎉

On October 24, a ceremony was held to honor volunteers 🎉 who made significant contributions to organizing the Leaders’ Forum on Volunteer Movements of the member states of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), held from October 3 to 4. These volunteers fulfilled crucial organizational tasks that greatly contributed to the event's success. 🏆

Vice Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aizada Kurmanova, presented volunteers with letters of gratitude from the Ministry, while Deputy Secretary General of CICA, Zhang Lin, conveyed letters of appreciation on behalf of the CICA Secretariat. 📜 Each volunteer also received a certificate from the National Volunteer Network, officially recording their volunteer hours. 🎖️

One of our university's students, Darina Mayorova, who studies in the 6B01506 Mathematics program, played a particularly valuable role in this event. 🌟 Darina accompanied the delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, assisting with navigation, comfort, and organizational tasks throughout the forum. This experience not only allowed her to contribute to an important international event but also to represent her country on the global stage. 🌍 It further demonstrated how volunteer work can strengthen diplomacy and foster international relations.

On October 29, 2024, PhD, senior lecturer at the University Sadykov Zh.A. organized a field lesson at the State Military Historical Museum of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan for students of the 3rd year of the OP "Recreational Geography and Tourism" groups RGiT 22A, RGiT 22B in the discipline "Organization of activities of tourism industry enterprises". The Military History Museum is distinguished by its unique halls, which complement the structural and architectural appearance of the building with their expositions. In the museum, students saw: the hall of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the hall of periodic exhibitions, the hall of Antiquity – XIX century, the hall of military history of the XX century, the hall of weapons of the XX-XXI century, the hall of fine arts, as well as the atrium "History of military affairs of Kazakhstan". The Military History Museum of the Armed Forces has collected about 6,000 exhibits, including rare and especially valuable historical and cultural monuments, ammunition of Kazakh soldiers from the Stone Age to the present day. Weapons and paintings, historical documents and photographs of events. The students touched the history in the literal sense, as there is a lot not only to see, but also to touch and listen to. All the objects that are in the museum building tell about the military history of the Republic of Kazakhstan, starting from ancient times and ending with the present. During the tour, the students got acquainted with the museum's exhibits, asked their questions and thanked the museum staff for a useful and interesting tour.
