On the last Sunday of September, Kazakhstan celebrated Labor Day, a holiday recognized in more than 100 countries around the world, becoming a global trend! 🌍

In honor of this event, on September 27, 2024, PhD Ayman Beisembaevna Karabalaeva, a senior lecturer at the School of Natural Sciences at Astana International University, held an engaging debate with 2nd-year students on the topic: «My success is my result.» 🌱

🎓 During the debates, important topics such as self-discipline, motivation, goal setting, overcoming difficulties, and the role of work in achieving personal and professional success were discussed. Participants shared how daily labor shapes character, develops skills, and helps achieve set goals, while also sharing their accomplishments and drawing inspiration from the successes of their peers.

On October 2, 2024, a fascinating scientific and methodological seminar on «Modern Methods of Floristics» was held at Astana International University. The seminar brought together students and faculty members of the «Biology - 6B01502, 7M01502» educational programs, along with biology teachers from urban and regional schools. 🌱

The seminar was led by Bulat Zulkharnayevich Zhumadilov, Candidate of Biological Sciences and Associate Professor (Acting), who provided deep insights into modern methods for studying plant communities of the Irtysh floristic district in the East Kazakhstan steppe province. Special focus was given to taxonomic, geographical, and ecological analyses, as well as the biological diversity of plant communities and the factors affecting their conservation, all backed by scientific data. 🌍

Participants also gained valuable knowledge about new methods and technologies in floristics, alongside innovative field research methodologies. The event was filled with interactive discussions where participants posed questions, shared ideas, and explored ways to advance scientific research. 💡

It is not just a job but a great calling that demands sensitivity and a love for one’s work.

Today, a festive event dedicated to Teacher's Day was held at Astana International University. On this day, teachers and staff from the education sector congratulated each other, expressing their most sincere wishes and words of gratitude for the hard work they put into their students every day.

The evening began with a performance by the ensemble «Amanat», who played the kuy «Alash Amanaty», filling the hall with deep emotional energy. The university’s President, Serik Aztaevich Irsaliev, gave a welcoming speech, highlighting the important role of teachers in society and their invaluable contribution to the country’s development. The best staff members and professors were awarded Letters of Appreciation, symbolizing respect and recognition of their achievements.

Älimbek Shugyla, a student of the Pedagogical Institute of Astana International University, majoring in "Teacher of English and Russian Languages," represents our group IYA RYA 23-3 in Rize, Turkey. Since September 2024, she has been studying there as part of the academic mobility program provided by the university.

Shugyla shares her impressions of studying abroad:

On September 28, 2024, a special and vibrant event – the Welcome Party 2024 – took place at the Astana International University. The festive evening was dedicated to the first-year students, who were officially welcomed into the large family of our educational institution.

The students solemnly took the Student Oath, demonstrating their readiness to immerse themselves in university life and conquer new heights. The active students organized a concert program, performing impressive songs and dances that enhanced the special atmosphere of the evening.

The winners of the “One Day with AIU” contest were also announced during this event, with the top four participants receiving the university's branded merchandise, while other participants were given thermoses as gifts.

Another exciting part of the evening was the presentation of student organizations. Through the ClubFairs fair, new students had the opportunity to join organizations that interested them and actively engage in university life. There are more than 20 diverse organizations at the university, including AIU Journalists, Dancing High Club, AIU IT Community, AIU Tunes, AIU Basketball, the «Shanyrak» Poetry Club, and many others that provide students with opportunities to realize their creative and academic potential.

The highlight of the festive event was the dance party among the students. This year, 3,800 new students entered the university, and for them, this evening was filled with unforgettable moments.

The Welcome Party is not just a celebration; it is the beginning of a new path for new students, filled with friendship, knowledge, and success.

From September 23 to 27, 2024, the School of Natural Sciences held its traditional Tourism Week. The week began with a book exhibition, where trainers from the public association "Great Steppe Scouts" held workshops on active tourism. Additionally, Raushan Mamaeva, the director of "Rais Travel," gave a lecture on creating authorial tourist routes. On September 26, students attended a lecture by Professor Ordenbek Mazbaev about traveling to Antarctica.

As part of Tourism Week, several competitions were organized for students, including the "Erudite" quiz, a video contest about Astana, and an intellectual team game focused on geography knowledge.

On September 27, a charity fair titled "Cuisines of the World" was organized, where students presented a variety of dishes and cultural features of different countries, as well as showcased national costumes. The funds raised, as decided by the students, will be donated to an orphanage in the city of Astana.

The results of the week were summarized on September 27—International Tourism Day—during a festive evening. Certificates and valuable prizes were awarded to the winners. The title of "Best Mobile Photographer" went to Turar Aruzhan, and the "Erudite Geographer" was awarded to Mahmet Aktilek. Following the intellectual game, the "Cup of Champions" was presented to the "Gulzhan" team from the RGIT-24 B group. All active students received certificates and letters of appreciation.

Tourism Week was filled with vibrant events and informative meetings with scientists and practitioners. These activities not only contributed to the professional development of students but also helped them get to know each other better and forge friendships.

We would like to express special gratitude to the dance group @ansambl_danira for their magnificent performance, which added vibrancy and energy to our event. Their talent and skill inspired all those present and made our gathering unforgettable.

At the International Forum of Analytical Centers of the SCO countries held in China, Kazakhstan was represented by a distinguished delegation of three members. Special attention was drawn to the presentations by S.E. Koshanova and A.E. Ibraeva, each of whom made significant contributions to strengthening cooperation between Kazakhstan and China.

S.E. Koshanova highlighted the cultural and educational aspects of SCO development, emphasizing the importance of key projects that foster closer ties between the two countries through educational and cultural initiatives. A.E. Ibraeva presented a strategically important report on energy cooperation between Kazakhstan and China within the framework of the SCO, reflecting the growing role of energy resources in ensuring sustainable development in the region.

The forum was divided into three key sections, each of which played an important role in shaping the future agenda: changes in the international situation and cooperation within the SCO, new production forces and sustainable development, and three global initiatives to create a community of shared destiny within the SCO. These topics are particularly relevant for Kazakhstan and China, whose partnership within the SCO continues to strengthen and contribute to the stability and prosperity of the entire region.

At the G.R. Derzhavin Tambov State University (Russia), events of the cultural and educational project "School of the Russian Language and Russian Folk Culture" took place. This project is aimed at supporting and bringing together researchers and teachers of the Russian language and literature who are eager to study and teach these disciplines in their countries. Participants included Russian language teachers from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, and Kyrgyzstan.

As part of the educational segment of the project, courses titled "Russian Language and Culture in the Context of Modern Pedagogical Technologies" were held, after which participants received state-recognized certificates of advanced training. The program included expert and business meetings, visits to cultural sites in the region, and participation in one of Russia's largest ethno-festivals, "Atmanovskie Kulachki – 2024," whose traditional games are part of Russia's intangible cultural heritage.

As part of the event, a roundtable discussion titled "The Russian Language in the International Space: Significance and Development Prospects" was held, with participants from Rossotrudnichestvo, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, experts from RUDN University, the A.S. Pushkin Institute of the Russian Language, Derzhavin University, and Astana International University. Raziyа Ibragimovna Narmanova, a professor at Astana International University, gave a presentation titled "The Russian Language in Kazakhstan: To Be or Not to Be," in which she highlighted the current state and future prospects for the development of the Russian language in Kazakhstan.

On September 23, 2024, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ms. Rosalba Lo Bue Antico, visited our university.

During the meeting, the parties identified potential prospects for cooperation in the field of education and scientific research, in particular in the field of logistics for the "One Belt, One Road" project, the opening of a cultural corner of Venezuela on the basis of our university and lectures by Ms. Ambassador to AIU. The President of the AIU presented the achievements of our university to Ms. Ambassador, spoke about foreign partners and educational opportunities for students and teachers.

In turn, Ms. Ambassador shared plans for the development of cooperation between universities of the two countries, highlighting the Central University of Venezuela as a potential partner for academic exchanges. One of the key aspects of the discussion was the possibility of cooperation within the framework of exchange programs for students, faculty and scientists.

Ms. Ambassador also offered AIU students the opportunity to complete an educational internship directly at the Venezuelan Embassy, which opens up additional prospects for their professional development. Both sides expressed interest in establishing partnerships and discussed the first steps towards their implementation, noting the importance of further negotiations for the successful launch of joint initiatives.
