On November 17th, AIU psychologist Venera Yeleu organized an interactive meeting

for students. Almat Berikuly Baltabekov, a psychologist from the City Mental Health

Center, led a session on "Stages of Development of Chemical Addiction."

The event took place at 2:45 PM in room 207. The speaker discussed the phases of

addiction formation, its key signs, and prevention strategies. Psychology students

actively engaged in the discussion, asked questions, and gained insights into practical

approaches for working with individuals struggling with addiction. The meeting,

organized by Venera Yeleu, continues the series of professional development events

for future psychologists.

BEIJING, November 11, 2025 – A delegation from Astana International University (AIU), led by Vice President Kairat Abdrakhmanov, met with the leadership of Tsinghua University in Beijing. The Chinese university was represented by Yang Bin, Vice-Rector and Provost of Tsinghua University, and Dr. Shi Zhiqin, Director of the Institute of Strategic Studies.

The meeting was constructive and focused on discussing the rich past cooperation between the two universities. The parties noted with satisfaction a number of successful joint projects, including the establishment of the Research Institute for the New Eurasian Land-Sea Intermodal Transport Corridor (RILMTC), the established practice of mutual visits, and cultural events such as the screening of the film "Composer." 

During the negotiations, the parties agreed to explore the creation of a joint Artificial Intelligence (AI) laboratory at Astana International University (AIU), as well as to organize a return visit by Tsinghua University to Kazakhstan in 2026.

JINAN, November 10, 2025. An AIU delegation held a working meeting with Inspur Corporation management in Jinan, Shandong Province. The highlight of the meeting was discussions with Mr. Yan Liang, General Manager of Inspur Cloud Information Technology Co., Ltd.

The visit began with a tour of a unique production complex – Inspur Corporation's only artificial intelligence factory in China. The Chinese side shared its experience in developing AI solutions and cloud services and demonstrated the company's technological capabilities.

During the talks, the parties exchanged strategic visions for future cooperation.

Following the meeting, a Memorandum of Cooperation in Artificial Intelligence was signed, solidifying the parties' intentions to develop joint initiatives.

A delegation from Astana International University (AIU) participated in the 8th Symposium on Economic and Social Development in Central Asia, held at Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics (ZUFE). The event focused on exploring new avenues of cooperation and promoting high-quality research on China and Central Asia.

The symposium was attended by over 60 experts from government, business, and academic circles in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and leading research institutions in China.

During the keynote speech session, Astana International University Vice President Kairat Abdrakhmanov delivered a keynote speech on "Prospects for the Development of the New Eurasian Land Corridor."

The AIU representative's presentation was part of a broad discussion that also included experts from the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies (KISS), the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS).

The participants agreed that cooperation between China and Central Asia holds broad prospects, and that regional studies should continue to unite the efforts of government, universities, and businesses.

   On November 6, 2025, a delegation from Astana International University (AIU), led by Vice President Kairat Abdrakhmanov, met with the leadership of leading Shenzhen research institutes, the China Center for Special Economic Zone Research at Shenzhen University (CCSEZR) and the Belt and Road Research Institute for International Cooperation and Development (BRRI), represented by Professor Tao Yitao.

   The meeting began with an exchange of key expertise. The Chinese side shared in detail its unique experience in studying and developing special economic zones (SEZs) and described successful mechanisms for interaction between the scientific and business communities in China.

   In response, the Kazakh delegation presented Kazakhstan's advantages, emphasizing its high potential in education, logistics, artificial intelligence (AI) development, and business.

On November 6, 2025, a delegation from Astana International University (AIU) met with the leadership of Shenzhen University (SZU) in Shenzhen, China. AIU Vice President Kairat Abdrakhmanov and Nurali Irsaliev, Director of the Research Institute of the New Asia-Europe Land-Sea Transport Corridor, held talks with SZU Vice President and Professor Naipeng Qiang.

The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence, recognizing it as a strategic priority for both universities. Naipeng Qiang expressed SZU's full commitment to advancing joint projects and proposed three formats: establishing a joint laboratory, launching research, and developing training programs.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to develop a concept for establishing a joint AI laboratory based at AIU. AIU will also explore the possibility of sending students to short-term (summer camps) and long-term (semester-long) exchange programs at SZU.

Furthermore, the two universities' relevant institutes will exchange proposals for joint research projects and the development of master's and PhD programs.

On November 17th, Astana International University hosted a guest lecture for psychology

students. Galina Timoshenko, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Deputy Director for

Science at the "Institute of Metaphorical Psychotherapy" (Moscow), host of the TV program

"Understand. Forgive," and author of 35 scientific and popular science books, delivered a

lecture on "The Craft of the Psychotherapist."

The event took place at 2:00 PM in room V208. The speaker shared insights into the

intricacies of psychotherapeutic practice, discussed the key aspects of professional

development, and explored effective methods of working with clients. Students and faculty

members had a unique opportunity to engage in a dialogue with a renowned psychologist and

gain valuable knowledge about current trends in the field.

Associate Professor of Astana International University, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Almir Aniayrov delivered a lecture titled “Scientific Research and Mathematical Modeling: The First Step from School to Science” as part of Mathematics Week at Shakarim School-Lyceum No. 56 in Astana.

During the lecture, students learned how school-level mathematical knowledge can evolve into real scientific research, where a young researcher’s journey begins, and why mathematical modeling plays a key role in modern science and technology. Practical examples from real scientific projects such as modeling mechanical systems, solving applied problems, and analyzing differential equations sparked particular interest among the participants.

The meeting took place in a warm and engaging atmosphere. Students showed high activity, asked in-depth questions, and demonstrated strong potential for further development in STEM fields.

The lecture is part of the professor’s mission to strengthen the link between school and university science, inspire students to explore the beauty and opportunities of mathematics, and encourage them to begin their first research projects.

School-Lyceum 56 serves as a base school of AIU, where scientific-methodological studies and innovative educational approaches are tested and implemented.

As part of the scientific project funded by the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Project No. AP26100031  “International Mediation Hub as an Instrument for Peaceful Conflict Resolution and Nuclear Disarmament: The Experience of Kazakhstan and Foreign Countries”), members of the research group participated online in the 14th EU Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Conference, held on 10–11 November 2025 in Brussels.

The event provided a unique opportunity for Kazakhstani scholars to gain up-to-date insights and exchange experiences with leading international experts in arms control, non-proliferation, and nuclear disarmament. The format of open and substantive dialogue enabled participants to share views on strengthening the global security architecture. Particular attention was given to the implementation of the EU Strategic Compass and to developing practical recommendations for enhancing the effectiveness of global non-proliferation regimes.

Participation by the Kazakhstani delegation provided access to relevant analytical materials and facilitated the establishment of working contacts with European and international expert institutions that influence the European Union’s policy in arms control and peaceful conflict resolution.

The acquired materials and expert insights will be used in preparing analytical reports, scientific publications in international peer-reviewed journals, and practical recommendations, contributing to the further strengthening of Kazakhstan’s academic and research potential in the field of non-proliferation and international cooperation.

On November 6, at Astana International University, Ph.D. Saule Tuyakovna Dyussupova, with the support of 3rd-year students of the “History” educational program, organized the annual scientific research conference “History Time – 2025.”

The main goal of the event was to enhance students’ research skills, deepen their historical knowledge, and support the initiatives of young researchers.

During the conference, participants presented the results of their studies, analyzing historical facts through the lens of modern approaches. The event contributed to strengthening students’ scientific potential and gave a new impetus to their professional growth.

Students of the Higher School of Law at Astana International University met with representatives of law enforcement agencies as part of the «Law and Order» initiative.

The main goal of the event was to enhance the legal awareness of young people, prevent offenses, and foster a respectful attitude toward the law.

During the meeting, the following topics were discussed: «Know the Law – Protect Yourself: Prevention of Money Muling and Fraud» «Drug Abuse Prevention – A Key Responsibility of Society»

The event was held in a constructive and informative atmosphere, generating great interest and positive feedback from the students.

On November 5 of the current year, the Higher School of Law of Astana International University held an engaging meeting with students under the principle of “Law and Order”, focusing on the topic “Ways to Prevent Offenses Among Youth.”

The event aimed to enhance students’ legal awareness, promote respect for the law, and prevent unlawful behavior among young people.

Experienced professionals in the field of law enforcement were invited as guest speakers:

Sultan Urystanbekuly Mukanaliev - Head of the Local Police Service, East Police Department of Temirtau City;

Aman Malikovich Kabdrash - Senior Inspector for Personnel, Transport Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

Zhansulu Galymbekkyzy Alimzhanova - Senior Inspector, Department for Management of Probation Services, Committee of the Penal System.

During the meeting, students engaged in an open dialogue with the experts, deepened their understanding of legal literacy, and learned about the importance of discipline and respect for the law in society.
