Organized by the "CFive" intellectual platform of Astana International University, an expert dialogue titled "Tech Giants of the West and East: Kazakh Figures in the Global Scientific Arena" was held. This significant gathering focused on the role of Kazakh scientists and entrepreneurs successfully working in the world’s leading innovation centers, research laboratories, and startup hubs. Today, world-class institutions—ranging from Stanford University to high-tech centers in Japan—have become the primary momentum for knowledge creation and economic growth. Our compatriots are becoming an integral part of these global networks, contributing to scientific progress and cross-border collaboration.
During the discussion, participants examined the new opportunities that international academic mobility and research cooperation create for Kazakhstan. Experts discussed the role of universities as innovation hubs, pathways for integrating into global technological networks, and strategies for strengthening the country's position in the knowledge economy. The event featured speakers with extensive international experience, including: Serik Meirmanov, Vice President of Ritsumeikan Asia-Pacific University; Serik Smagulov, founder of TopMDHealth (USA); Aliya Sembayeva, Advisor to the CEO of Astana Hub; and Samat Sagatov, project leader at Nazarbayev University.
The meeting was held in an open dialogue format, providing a platform for an exchange of ideas between researchers, entrepreneurs, and students. Moderated by Iskander Akylbayev, Chairman of the "CFive" platform, the session helped inspire young talent and enhance Kazakhstan's participation in global innovation processes.
